THE STORY
Years ago, (way back in 2009) while at his friend Caleb Duerr’s birthday party, Jayden Peterman saw a stop-motion video that Caleb had put together. Jayden went home feeling inspired. So as soon as he could, he got his hands on a Nikon D70 and started making LEGO® stop-motions, at the age of 8. But just when he was getting tired of LEGOs, his family got a new camcorder. So he invited Caleb over and they started making films. Jayden learned how to use iMovie, and then they were on a roll. Pretty soon Caleb was coming over every week to make more and more videos. After about 6 months, they decided they should have a company name. At first it was Light Rays. But that didn’t stick so they started thinking some more. In the end, they came up with what they thought sounded pretty cool. Pontifex. It wouldn’t be until years later that they found that “pontifex” means “bridge-builder.” Still, pretty cool.
Since then Pontifex has made countless films starring many different friends, but it all started with two little blokes with a camera and wild imaginations.
